| Answers: Can discrimination improve if no one addresses the issue? Many Southerners have told me they feel there is no need for diversity training and consulting services in businesses in Alabama because even though discrimination is better than it was years ago "black people" don't have much in the South and if they stand up for whats right they will loose what little they have. I can't fathom that; if no one stands up for whats right things won't improve. Here employees unknowingly make offensive comments to their co-workers and the comments are accepted as normal to the offended parties; they just say nothing and act as if they weren't offended. |
