Thank author of this post/commentattitude that is vented here, that when the next major disaster occurs, as in the next Katrinia, hurricane Andrew, one of the LA earthquakes, Oklahoma City or the World Trade centers, that it would be best for everyone if all religious based relief is keep away. The Red Cross, Samaritans Purse, The Southern Baptist Association which served 9, 000, 000 meals in the first 60 days after Katrinia. Not to mentions the billions collected by Christians for relief in churches through out the nation. All Assistance should be rejected, allowing the government to deal with it, is that right?

The government can't deal with it alone. It is good that many other NGOs, religious and non-religious in nature, are there to help. As for religious groups helping out, I believe it is just their way of putting into practice what is being preached to them. Besides, what do people who need help got to lose if they accept charity?

Religious rights vary from one group of people to another. We stand for our own belief. I think there is nothing wrong about it as long as we keep the respect to others. As a Christian, I am pleased to manifest the various religious practices in our religion.

The most important thing is that we remain humane to other people and show them that we are just equal as humans.

If we left all humanitarian work up to the government, we'd soon lose the meaning of the word. Whether governments are unable, or simply unwilling to help depends upon the country itself and it's governmental policy, but we should never restrict those who want to do good for their fellow man. Not only would we be doing a disservice to those in need, but also a disservice to the rest of us who have a little something to give. Without the idea that one has a duty to help those less fortunate, one becomes self-centered and spoiled.

The state shall not engage with the invasion of their power with religion, the idea that some religion my vary depending on what they believe and what they condemn depend on the religion an individual has. It is all about respect, people should be willing to have the pleasing understanding that they have apparent believes and understanding of what is life and we people in different religion should respect it.

This world is just sick as it is. If people chose to help one another because it is their moral and religious obligations, then let them be. If you ask me, the government needs all the help it can get especially on these times of economic uncertainty still brought by the recent recession. When such religious organizations starts demanding for somethings or allowing help only to hose who will convert, then that is another issue.
