| Tea Party protests in Washington DC - RT 05 Jul 09 America's Independence Day celebrations are over in the United States, with millions of people having taken part in the festivities. But there are some who think it's a time to protest rather than celebrate. Its Independence Day in the US but there are people who arent exactly celebrating Americas birthday. Instead they are speaking out against those very policies that now shape this nation, at a Tea Party protest in Washington. A group called Taxed Enough Already gathered thousands of members all across America to criticize the current level of government spending. |
| Being an independent country is amazing. We already had our own freedom. And definitely, everybody wants to have a freedom, right? Even me, I admit that I want to have a freedom. And having our freedom from other countries we want to celebrate it in a nice way of course! To those people who says against the policies of this nation, we should be happy of what we already have and just help on how our nation to improve more. |
| Well I respect those people who choose to administer protest. That is simply how they manifest their independence and freedom. Well, according to the video, the leaders of the protest were able to express their frustrations against the government. On the other hand, I am glad to see those people celebrate and commemorate the independence in the US. I think they were able to open their minds to help one another for the progress of the country. |
| The dazzle of the United States' celebrations on Independence Day still leaves me in awe up to this day. It is one of the most joyful events in the whole world that people from other countries also love watching on video. It's like the fun and jubilation are contagious. Well, it should be because Americans are proud to be independent. This has brought them to become the developed country that they are today. |
| It is everyone's right to conduct a peaceful protest. A government can't please all of its people, there will always be resistance. If you ask me, the government should learn how to stop overspending on trivial things and learn to cut various government expenses like festive celebrations, expensive meals, out of the country trips and many more. This is how the TEA Party wants to celebrate the independence of their country which seems not to be completely free from heavy taxes and expensive cost of living. |
| Hi there! I believe that our independence should be celebrated. I couldn't imagine if we are not independent as we are right now. I think instead of administering protests against the government, why don't we do our share in helping the government promote peace and freedom all over the country.
