| YouTube: Madison, Wisconsin Tea Party Taxpayer Rally, April 15th, 2009 "Tea Parties -- Not just for rebels, anymore" Death, God and Taxes...still the top three issues, and no different than in 1773 when a young America was already disgusted with "taxation without representation." The Boston Tea Party became a symbol of protestation of high taxes without public consent. 8000+ Wisconsinites claimed the same on April 15th, 2009 at the State Capital, during a three hour rally focused on Tax reform, Taking back our Government, and asking citizens to put down complacency, take up the sword and speak out. Dubbed as a Right Wing organized event, the day was actually organized by special interest groups of all different political parties, and attended by thousands of individuals and families from all over the state. One couple even came from Norway..."We live in a socialist state...it just won't work here." View on... |
| tax is very important to run a government. The tax collected is used to provide the citizens poper social benefits such medical heath care, education and infrastructure. We must pay taxes to help our nation. However, there must be a transparency on where our money goes and it should be audited properly. |
| There is nothing wrong if we pay taxes, because, I think, it is still our obligation to pay taxes in the government. Obviously, the money collected is a big help for the citizens of the country as well as to the development of it. I just want to make it clear that the money is for the welfare of the people and not to the personal interest of the leaders. |
| Hi there! Taxes are what's keeping our countries on the go. I don't understand why people are having difficulty understanding this. This is a reality that we should accept. And whether you like or not, you are benefiting from it as well. Thank you so much and have a great day to all! |
| "Excessive Taxes"
I think the issue is that they believe the taxes are excessive. If you earn a good salary, but cannot afford your rent and food because of the taxes you pay, it is not a reality one should readily accept. How far has your government gone from provided basic necessary services in an efficient manner to simple wasteful spending of money on unnecessary services and provide essential services in a wasteful manner. |
| I have to agree with Joe. It is not about the tax because we are obliged to pay for it because it is our responsibility to contribute but the excessive taxes that we are paying. I think it is important that these issues be addressed because all of us are being affected with it. Especially if we are having troubles with the things that we have to pay for. Good day. |
